FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I offer services, donate, or Volunteer for the event?

A: Absolutely. We accept volunteers, donated services, donated equipment, borrowed equipment, and cash donations. All help us to put on the best event that we can and subsequently raise the most money for the local charity. Please visit our Volunteer page for more details and to fill out an application. We appreciate the kindness of strangers that want to be a part of something great!

Q: Is the Munster Mansion open for tours?

A: No! We are open for tours only in October for our Halloween Charity Event. There are plans to open the Mansion for tours in the future.

Q: Has any of the original Munster cast ever visited the Munster Mansion?

A: Yes Butch Patrick (Eddie Munster) has visited the Munster Mansion several times and was a guest in 2002 at our Halloween Event. Al Lewis (Grandpa) was also a guest at our Halloween Event on Oct 2002. Pat Priest (Marilyn Munster) was our guest for our Halloween Event 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Q: Does anyone live in the Munster Mansion?

A: Yes! The house is occupied by the owners The McKee family.

Q: Is it okay to take pictures?

A: Yes! But PLEASE take pictures from outside the gate. If the gate happens to be open, please respect the privacy of the McKee family and take pictures from outside the gate only.

Q: What is the square footage of the Munster Mansion?

A. 5825 square feet.

Q: How did the McKee’s get the blueprints to build the house?

A: There were no blueprints. The McKee’s watched all 70 episodes to get the lay out of the house. The McKee’s then drew the layout of the house from the set of the TV show.

Q: The exterior of the Mansion looks clean and fresh, do you plan to decorate and paint it to look run-down and dilapidated as it did on the TV show?

A: Yes! We are in the process of painting the house darker browns to make it look older as well as having it aged and distressed to appear very old. We are always working on ways to make the house look older and dilapidated. It is our ultimate goal for the house to appear exactly as it did on the television show.

Q: What is it like, actually living there in the Munster Mansion?

A: Living in the Munster Mansion is really fun. I love when The Munsters come on TV. I can look around and actually feel like I am on the set!

Q: Is the Munster Mansion really haunted?

A: I feel the house is truly haunted. However, I think it is the land the house was built on that is really haunted and it has just seeped its way into the house. Several people that have stayed here have had experiences with the mansion that can not be explained. Too many strange things have happened to too many different people here to be ignored. But whatever or whomever it is, I feel is not here to harm us.

Q:Do the McKees benefit from the events?

A: No, the events fund the expense to produce the event, and the proceeds go to the named local charity.

Q: Do the events cost the McKees to produce?

A: Yes, there are many logistics for any event and unfortunately a financial commitment. There are performers, security (off-duty policemen), shuttle services, permit expenses, food, beverages, additions to the house, lighting, sounds, booths for kids to play games in, bouncy houses, relief facilities, tour guides, etc. The cost can be offset by ticket sales, volunteers, donations, etc. However, there are always costs and the proceeds cover the costs with all profit going directly to the named charity.
